Bucks Names Acting Chief Operating Officer

With Dave Sanko closing out his last day in service to Bucks County yesterday, Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin announced to employees that Finance and Administration Division Leader Brian Hessenthaler will serve as acting Chief Operating Officer (COO). Hessenthaler and acting Chief Clerk Lynn Bush, also executive director of the Planning Commission will team up to ensure a smooth transition.

In a message to the county’s workforce Monday afternoon, Commissioner Martin said, “Both of these individuals have exhibited a tireless work ethic and leadership qualities that will serve us all well during this interim period.”

Hessenthaler has been with the county since June 2004; Bush reached her 10-year anniversary with the county this month. “It’s my privilege to play this interim role while the county searches for its next COO,” Hessenthaler stated.

Bush added, “I thank the commissioners for their faith in me. I am happy to help out in any way I can.”

The commissioners hope to conduct a search resulting in a new COO by the end of the year.
