Are You A Business Or Organization That Helps Our Military Community? Contact Bucks County to Be Listed In Upcoming Website

Earlier this month, the Bucks County Commissioners joined with the Travis Manion Foundation in announcing a partnership that will create a comprehensive network connecting current service members, veterans, family members, and survivors with individuals and organizations offering assistance. The partnership, known as the Military Community Network of Bucks County (MCN BC) is now seeking those individuals, businesses and organizations wishing to be involved.

Although a work-in-progress, the Web site is likely going to include a directory of helpful links in the areas of:

  • Health
  • Education & Training
  • Transition and Employment
  • Family & Survivor Support
  • Local Community Support/Resources
  • Advocacy

Janet Manion founded the Travis Manion Foundation in memory of her son, a 1st Lt. in the US Marine Corps who was killed while serving in Iraq in support of the Global War on Terror.  She emphasizes that MCN BC is seeking veteran-friendly employers, those offering assistance with resume and interview skills, programs for children affected by deployment, education assistance, financial assistance, or even companies offering military discounts to contact the county at mcn-bc@co.bucks.pa.us or 215-348-6415.

Manion also urges all members of the Bucks County military community to fill out on-line the survey to help shape the program’s direction.  The survey can be found at www.BucksCounty.org.
