Bucks Issues “Code Blue” Cold Weather Declaration for Period of January 8-11, 2010
Based on information received from the National Weather Service, Bucks County today is issuing another “Code Blue” declaration. The determination was made jointly by the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and the Health Department.
The Code Blue period begins on Friday night, Jan. 8, 2010, when temperatures are expected to dip to the 20 degrees Fahrenheit range. Similarly frigid conditions are anticipated through Monday night, Jan. 11. County Emergency Management Director John Dougherty and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They urge residents to be aware of the severe anticipated weather conditions.
The EMA has made notification to the “on-call” church which will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, and food, among other necessities.
