Bucks County Declares “Code Blue” Through Monday, Feb. 1

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures that will dip below 20 degrees Fahrenheit starting tonight and extending through the upcoming weekend. In advance of the freeze, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the county Health Department to issue a “Code Blue” declaration for the next five nights. The EMA has made arrangements with the on-call church, United Christian Church in Levittown, to remain open through Monday, February 1. The on-call church will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities.

County Emergency Management Director John Dougherty and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They advise residents to be aware of the severe anticipated weather conditions.
