Bucks County Extends “Code Blue” Weather Alert through Sunday Night, February 14
As another winter storm approaches, the National Weather Service predicts temperatures will continue to fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit tonight through Sunday night, February 14. In advance of the storm and ensuing freeze, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the county Health Department to issue a “Code Blue” extension through Sunday night, February 14, which is an additional four nights. The EMA has made arrangements with the on-call church, United Christian Church in Levittown, to remain open through February 14. The on-call church will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities.
County Emergency Management Director John Dougherty and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. County residents are also urged to check on their neighbors, particularly the elderly, during this period of frigid weather.
