Bucks County Declares “Code Blue” Weather Alert for Nights of February 24-25

In addition to the anticipated winter storm approaching Bucks County, the National Weather Service predicts wind chill factors that will approach 20 degrees Fahrenheit tonight and tomorrow night, February 24-25. In advance of the storm and ensuing freeze, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the county Health Department to issue a “Code Blue” declaration for the next two nights. The EMA has made arrangements with the on-call church, Emmaus Road Lutheran Church in Fairless Hills, to open. The on-call church will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities.

County Emergency Management Director John Dougherty and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They advise residents to be aware of the severe anticipated weather conditions. County residents are also urged to check on their elderly neighbors during this period of frigid weather, and to monitor the storm actively.
