Military Community Network of Bucks County Welcomes All Service Organizations to Attend 1st Annual Conference
Continuing its efforts to build a network of well-informed service, resource, and information providers, the Military Community Network of Bucks County (MCN BC) (www.MilitaryCommunityNetwork.org) will host its first conference for professional organizations. The purpose of the gathering is two-fold: to acquaint agencies with the MCN BC and to each other so that as a group, providers may more comprehensively serve those who have served their country.
The conference is open to representatives of social service agencies, law enforcement, businesses, secondary and higher education, faith-based organizations, veterans’ service organizations, and local unit leadership.
“Anyone belonging to an organization that somehow touches our military community is encouraged to attend,” noted Janet Manion, chair of the Travis Manion Foundation which partners with the Bucks County Commissioners to form the MCN BC. “One veteran with what may appear to be one issue, can actually have a variety of issues he or she needs assistance with. The more familiar we all are with the vast array of available services, the more effectively we’ll serve that person’s needs.”
The conference will be held at Delaware Valley College in the Moumgis Auditorium of the Student Center, 700 E. Butler Avenue, Doylestown, on June 15. Check-in will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. The conference begins at 9 a.m. and goes until noon.
Please register at http://www.militarycommunitynetwork.org/conference. The conference is free, and continental breakfast will be served. The Military Community Network of Bucks County was launched on Veterans Day 2009.
