Korean Delegation at the TileworksDelegation From Namdong, Republic of Korea Tours Historic Moravian Pottery & Tile Works

Bucks County Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin joined representatives of the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works this morning to welcome visitors representing the 21st Century Alliance with Namdong District, Republic of Korea. The delegation, which included former Namdong Mayor Yoon Tae Jin, was treated to a tour of the nationally renowned facility by Vance Koehler. Mr. Koehler joined other staff members to show how the tiles are molded, fired in a kiln and marketed in the gift shop.

Delegation watching tiles being made.Following the tour, each member of the delegation received a “Plus Ultra” tile to take home to Korea. Commissioner Martin also presented a 17 x 21-inch “Silva Vocat” tile that weighs 32 pounds to Mayor Yoon. Tomorrow at noon, the Korean delegation will attend the Korean War Ceremony of Remembrance in the Courthouse courtyard. The keynote speaker will be Lieutenant General John F. Kelly, commander, Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North.
