Health Department to Conduct Mosquito Spraying August 6 in Bristol and Falls Townships

The Bucks County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will administer an adult mosquito spray treatment in portions of Bristol and Falls townships on Friday, August 6, 2010.

The first spraying will involve a barrier treatment to the Delhaas Woods bordering Fayette Dr. in Bristol Township. This event will take place during the afternoon, weather permitting.

At dusk, county Health Department officials will conduct a walking spray of the Oxford Valley Golf Course in Falls Township. Both properties are owned by Bucks County, and the DEP has received recent reports of West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes.

This Oxford Valley Golf Course spraying will take place with a walking backpack ultra-low volume (ULV) applicator, using the chemical Biomist 3+15. For information about West Nile Virus, please visit http://www.westnile.state.pa.us/.
