Health Department to Conduct Mosquito Spraying August 11 in West Bristol Section of Bristol Township

The Bucks County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will administer an adult mosquito spray treatment on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in the West Bristol section of Bristol Township.  According to Health Department officials, the preventive event will address elevated counts of mosquitoes known to transmit or amplify West Nile Virus.

The area being treated lies between Route 413, Dixon Avenue and Newport Road. Streets to be sprayed include Snowden, Carnarvon, Westview, Western, Park, Leedom and Lang Avenues as well as Dixon and Newport Roads.  This event will begin at dusk, weather permitting.

The chemical agent for the spray will be Biomist 3+15, which will be applied from a sprayer mounted on a green, Chevrolet pick-up truck with Bucks County Department of Health decals.
