Health Department to Conduct Mosquito Spraying Thursday, August 12 in Morrisville Borough
The Bucks County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), is preparing an adult mosquito spray treatment on Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Morrisville Borough.
According to Health Department officials, the treatment will address elevated counts of mosquitoes known to transmit or amplify West Nile Virus. Mosquitoes positive for West Nile Virus have been found within this area.
The area to be sprayed borders South Pennsylvania Avenue, Bowling Green Avenue, East Post Road and Riverside Avenue. These avenues along with Lenora, Ida and Jessie Avenues are within the spray zone. Spraying will begin at dusk, weather permitting.
The chemical agent for the spray will be Biomist 3+15, which will be applied from a sprayer mounted on a green, Chevrolet pick-up truck with Bucks County Department of Health decals.
