Health Department to Conduct Mosquito Spraying August 19 in Falls Township

The Bucks County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), has scheduled another adult mosquito spray treatment for Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Falls Township.

According to Health Department officials, the treatment will address elevated counts of mosquitoes known to transmit or amplify West Nile Virus. The area to be sprayed in Falls Township where high numbers of mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus have been detected include the grounds of William Penn Manor and Bucks County owned Oxford Valley Golf Course. No residential areas will be affected.  The spraying will commence at dusk, weather permitting.

The insecticide for the spray will be Biomist 3+15, which will be applied from a sprayer mounted on a green, Chevrolet pick-up truck with Bucks County Department of Health decals.
