Health Department to Conduct Backpack Mosquito Spraying August 25 in Penndel Borough

The Bucks County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), has scheduled a backpack mosquito spray treatment for Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the Taddie Woods park, off of Holly Ave. in Penndel Borough.  

According to Health Department officials, the treatment will address elevated counts of mosquitoes known to transmit or amplify West Nile Virus. The area to be sprayed will not affect any residential streets. The spraying will commence at dusk, weather permitting. 

The insecticide for the spray will be Biomist 3+15, which will be applied from a backpack sprayer by Health Department personnel.
