Happy “Howl-O-Ween”
More than 50 Dogs Compete for Prizes in First Bucks County Off-leash Dog Park Costume Parade

Pavilion 11 at Core Creek Park was transformed into a “barking lot” on the morning of Saturday, October 23, as canine members of the Bucks County Off-leash Dog Park donned costumes ranging from spaghetti and meatballs to a sheriff’s holster. The event, which began with a parade from the Dog Park to Pavilion 11, was judged by a panel of dignitaries that included Bucks County Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin and Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, LCSW.

After more than 50 dogs passed the reviewing tent in their festive finery, the panel awarded prize baskets to 13 of the participants. Coming away with top honors – and a special prize from Langhorne’s Town and Country Kennels – was Beau the Boxer. Dressed as a thoroughbred race horse bearing red silks and the No. 1, Beau is owned by Tricia Neidhardt.

Joining Beau in the top three ring of honor were Roxy, dressed as a healthy serving of spaghetti and meatballs and owned by Joshua Sebastian. According to Roxy’s owner, the dog absolutely loves to eat the Italian delicacy. Also earning top three accolades was Cole the Holstein cow, owned by Jay Ramsey (for a photo album, please see below).

The event was sponsored by the Off-leash Dog Park, which has accepted more than 700 members since its opening in early July. It was coordinated by the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation. Below is a complete list of the distinguished doggies:
