Court St. Entrance of Bucks County Courthouse to Close for One Month on Monday, Nov. 22

Beginning Monday, November 22, 2010, the Court St. entrance to the Bucks County Courthouse will be closed for approximately one month. This public-safety closure is necessitated by the ongoing window replacement project that will be shifting to the entrance-side of the building. During recent weeks, work has been completed on the Broad St. façade.

To accommodate the Court St. closure, the Main St. entrance to the Courthouse will be open from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on county business days. The county Security office will facilitate this transition by screening handicapped individuals on the first floor. All other public visitors to the Courthouse will proceed to the second-floor screening station.

In the event of an emergency that would necessitate a Courthouse evacuation, the Court St. entrance will be re-opened by Security personnel.

The Parking Garage Shuttle will pick up and drop off passengers at the Main St. entrance during its daily hours of operation, which are 7 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

In addition, smoking will not be permitted in the smoking courtyard on the second-floor atrium. Those wishing to smoke will be asked to use the area outside the Main St. entrance as an alternative location.

Although the length of the Court St. closure will depend on weather conditions, contractors estimate that it will last approximately 30 days if work proceeds as scheduled. For updates on the reopening, please visit the official county website, www.BucksCounty.org.
