Seventh Annual “Olde Fashioned Christmas” Celebration Slated for Tinicum Park Saturday, December 4
Tinicum Park will be the site for the 7th Annual “Olde Fashioned Christmas” celebration, which will take place on Saturday, December 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will have a chance to take a one-mile ride around Tinicum Park in an old-fashioned horse drawn carriage, among other attractions. Horses and carriage will be decked out in holiday attire. The Stockton Carriage Company, which will provide this unique mode of transportation, suggests that riders dress appropriately for the weather.
The scenic event also includes a number of activities that will take place inside the historic Stover barn. These include entertainment for all ages, among them a kids’ craft corner, crafters offering holiday decorating items for sale, delicious food prepared by the Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church and free tours of the historic John Stover House. The highlight of the day will be the arrival of Father Christmas at 10:45 a.m. Families can have a holiday picture taken with Father Christmas against a decorated background that features a Christmas tree donated by Walter’s Nursery in Point Pleasant.
Seating for carriages is limited and pre-registration is required for this popular program. The price for a pre-registered carriage ride is $12 for adults and $8 for children. This fee includes the carriage ride only - all other activities taking place inside the barn are free of charge. Kids 16 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. Deadline to register for the carriage rides is Monday, November 29 at 4 p.m. For more information or to reserve a carriage space please call Jill Unger at 215-348-6620.
