Commissioners Support Opening of Cold Weather Shelter at Yardley’s Woodside Presbyterian Church

Although the current weather conditions do not meet the criteria for a “Code Blue” declaration in Bucks County, the Board of Commissioners joins Advocates For Homeless & Those in Need to let residents know that the December “on-call” church has been activated today.

Woodside Presbyterian Church, located at 1667 Edgewood Rd., Yardley, will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, and food, among other necessities. For shelter information, please call the homeless hotline at 877-260-2936. Additional information about the Code Blue program is available through the website, www.advocates4homeless.org.

A county “Code Blue” declaration is issued jointly by the Emergency Management Agency and the Health Department when the forecast calls for two consecutive days of temperatures that reach 20 degrees Farenheit or below. The forecast for the next two nights calls for temperatures in the low-20’s.
