Bucks County Declares Three-Night “Code Blue” Weather Alert For Monday, Dec. 13 Through Wednesday, Dec. 15

The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures that will fall below 20 degrees Fahrenheit next Monday, Dec. 13 lasting through Wednesday, Dec. 15. In advance of the ensuing extreme cold front coming into the area, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the county Health Department to issue a “Code Blue” declaration for the beginning of next week. The EMA has made arrangements with the on-call church, Woodside Presbyterian of Yardley, to activate their emergency shelter. The on-call church will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities.

County Emergency Management Director John Dougherty and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They advise all residents to be aware of the severe anticipated weather conditions. County residents are urged to check on their elderly neighbors during this period of frigid weather. Caution also should be taken with pets during the anticipated period of extreme temperatures.
