County Bridge No. 162 (Street Rd.) in Solebury Twp. Will be Closed to Traffic May 2

Google map image of bridge closure area.Following a structural inspection of County Bridge No. 162 in Solebury Township, engineers have decided to close the bridge to traffic on Wednesday, May 2. According to Bucks County Director of Special Projects Joe Bush, the bridge will remained closed for approximately two months. The 30-foot wide, 27-foot long steel stringer bridge with steel-grid deck was built in 1954 and carries Street Rd. over Pidcock Creek in Buckingham and Solebury Townships. It is one of 115 bridges owned and maintained by the County of Bucks.

The necessary repairs consist of beam end repairs, partial backwall construction, installation of new deck angling at the backwall, and pavement reconstruction.

As a public notice, residents are advised that the bridge will be marked with “Bridge Closed” signs and emergency response personnel have been notified and instructed to use alternate routes to access the surrounding area.
