Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia Appointed DVRPC Chair during Monthly Board Meeting

January 26, 2015

At a meeting of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) Board last week, a unanimous vote was cast, filling the Chairman seat vacated just a few days ago with Bucks County Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, LCSW. Newly elected Chair, Commissioner Marseglia began her tenure in a meeting that included discussions on Transportation Improvement Projects Actions such as culvert replacements, and an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2015 Work Group Actions for a Broad Street Subway Extension Ridership Forecasts Study.

“I have always been honored to be part of the DVRPC process as we work together as states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and the many counties, to develop safe roadways and travel options,” stated Commissioner Marseglia. “This just allows me to continue being an active part of that process, working with my colleagues to make our bridges stand taller, our roads run smoother and our environment grow cleaner by finding alternate transportation methods, such as bike trails, all across this great region.”

The DVRPC, the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Greater Philadelphia region, serves the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania; and Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer in New Jersey.  By bringing representatives together from across the region, the DVRPC works to improve transportation, promote smart growth, protect the environment and enhance the economy by streamlining projects and combining services.

In the past, Bucks County has worked with the DVRPC on such issues as transportation studies, land use planning and municipal economic development. For more information on the DVRPC, go to
