August 3, 2015

The Bucks County Department of Health in association with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Wednesday, August 5, beginning at dusk.  Technicians will treat the following roads of Northampton Township: Bonnie, Tarton, Paisley, Galloway, Iroquois, Cherokee, Lenape, Douglas, Holly Hill, Holly, Howard, Highspire and Holyoke.

In addition, the following drives will be treated: Erin, Emily, Anselm, Bryan, Lisette, Patrick, Marie, Drexel, Cloverly, Lehigh, Temple, Beth, Primrose, Nikol, American, Silo Hill, Golden Gate, Orthodox, Purdue, Mohawk, Auburn, Yale and Misty Meadow. Circles to be treated include Mathew, Renee and Jacqueline. Lanes to be treated include Dartmouth, Temperance, Blue Fox and Syracuse.

The rain date for this event will be Thursday, August 6, at the same time.

County technicians will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.  There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification.  The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of one (1) ounce per acre. According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
