Commissioners Offer Support for "#HoldOnYouMatter" Walk to Fight Suicide Sunday, April 22 in Fairless Hills

March 15, 2018

The Board of Bucks County Commissioners is proud to partner in a Bucks County event to bring fundraising and awareness of suicide prevention. To that end, the commissioners encourage residents to participate in the Sunday, April 22 “#HoldOnYouMatter” Walk to Fight Suicide on the campus of the Bucks County Technical High School in Fairless Hills. The 10 a.m. walk will support the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force in its efforts to raise awareness and prevent suicide.

“The significance of this walk is that it is proof of our community linking arms to educate ourselves, extending the resources of help for those struggling, and allowing a place for grief to be shared," said Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, LCSW, one of the driving forces behind the annual event. "As we approach our 3rd walk I am amazed how far we have come in increasing awareness of the facts related to suicide, gathering funds through donations, and showing our combined community strength in this coordinated effort"

Funds raised are used to develop Prevention, Intervention and Postvention activities to address suicide in Bucks County.  To register go to http://www.lenapevf.org/bcsptf-walk.
