Bucks County Commissioners Robert G. Loughery and Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia will be among those walking in support of suicide-prevention awareness Nov. 3 at the #HoldOnYouMatter Walk to Fight Suicide in Perkasie.

This year’s annual walk – the county’s fourth but the first held in Upper Bucks – is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Upper Bucks campus of Bucks County Community College, One Hillendale Road in Perkasie. Registration and check-in starts at 1 p.m.

Funds raised are used to develop Prevention, Intervention and Postvention activities to address suicide in Bucks County. To register go to http://www.lenapevf.org/bcsptf-walk.

“The significance of this walk is the community linking arms to educate one another, sharing resources of help for those struggling, and allowing a place for grief to be shared,” said Commissioner Marseglia, who has been a driving force behind the annual event.

“As we approach our fourth walk, this one in Upper Bucks County, I am proud of the progress we have made as a community, while still recognizing the great strides needed to show everyone ‘They Matter’,” the commissioner said.

Commissioner Marseglia was featured recently on Comcast Newsmakers, where she spoke eloquently about efforts in Bucks County to address and raise awareness of suicide prevention. The segment can be viewed here: https://tinyurl.com/yd6kxon5
