Crimes Against Older Adults

Extended Hours and Off-site Service

For your added convenience, our Courthouse office remains open on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening of every month until 7:30 pm.  Our registrars are also available for probate and marriage license applications only at our satellite office located at:

Monday: 1:00 to 4:00 pm;
Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Appointments are encouraged

Special arrangements can also be made to have traveling registrars available for offsite locations for probate and to take affidavits or emergency marriage license applications in Bucks County. To make an appointment for probate or for an emergency marriage license application call 215-348-6265. Additional charges may apply. 

Genealogy & Historic Research

For genealogic research, original documents dating back to 1684, as well as microfilm, may be viewed in our office Archive Center.  You may also request documents by mail.  Research Fees apply.

Information Displays

The Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court also participates in expos and events throughout the county bringing information to the community.   Our displays can be tailored to the event, focusing on genealogy and history, marriage licensing, or wills and probate. 

Professional Advisory Panel

As part of his commitment to ensure the Register of Wills and Orphans’ Court operates in the most efficient manner possible, Don Petrille has established a Professional Advisory Panel for local attorneys.  If you would like to join, please e-mail Sheila Bass at registerofwills@buckscounty.org

Public Speaking

The Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court will send presenters to educational, civic, social and faith-based organizations regarding many aspects, such as, genealogy, probate estate planning and other government services.

Hours of Operation: The Register of Wills/Clerk of the Orphans' Court is open for virtual appointments and limited in person appointments within the Administration building. Please call to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will not be accepted. The office will be open extended hours until 7:30 pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month (for virtual appointments). You may reach us at 215-348-6265.

  • Before seeking an appointment, we ask the Bar and public to seriously consider whether the specific matter at issue would be considered exigent circumstances by an objective observer.
  • Access to the Register of Wills/Clerk of Orphans’ Court office on the Sixth Floor of the Administration Building is now limited. A system is being implemented by which all emergency business before the Register/Clerk will be conducted in an alternative reception area on the Second Floor of the Administration Building.
  • All visitors, including members of the bar with passes allowing access to the Administration Building, are asked to check in with the security officers.
