Non-County Position:
Intervention Service Provider position for the Department of Corrections Drug and Alcohol Department
This posting is for a part-time Intervention Service Provider that will work within the Drug and Alcohol Treatment at the Bucks County Department of Corrections (BCDOC) facilities.
This position provides the treatment needs of county offenders.
It is the responsibility of the Intervention Service Provider to deliver direct and indirect therapeutic services to individuals with substance use disorders
Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Clinically assessing, consulting, and educating incarcerated individuals in accordance with established substance abuse treatment standards and trends.
- Facilitating group and individual sessions in both the maximum and medium security facilities utilizing an evidence based, cognitive behavioral curriculum.
- Facilitate programming utilizing various telehealth and virtual platforms as required.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining partnerships with internal staff.
- Maintaining case records and documentation.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in chemical dependency/addiction counseling, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services).
- Previous experience in a drug and alcohol setting with a minimum of two (2) years of documented experience preferred.
- Awareness of group dynamics, delivery of services and cognitive behavioral approaches.
- Ability to be highly adaptable and flexible, working in more than one location, day and evening hours, shifting from program to program.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience working within a locked correctional setting or with the forensic population preferred.
- Previous experience with providing telehealth based services preferred.
- Current licensure and certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania preferred.
- Proof of professional Liability insurance
- Bilingual capability in Spanish is preferred.
