March 1, 2019

Media contact: Larry R. King, 215-348-6413, lrking@buckscounty.org

Bucks County’s correctional facilities are in search of an ordained chaplain to minister to the spiritual needs of county inmates. BCCF

Candidates for the chaplain position may apply through March 15 by faxing a resume to Inmate Services at 215-345-3747, or by emailing to bucksDOC@buckscounty.org

Among the chaplain’s duties will be providing biblical guidance and spiritual counseling to inmates of any faith and assisting with finding alternative faith leaders and ministers. Both individual and family counseling will be provided, and the chaplain will help assist inmates as they prepare to re-enter the community after incarceration.

The chaplain will not be hired as a Bucks County employee, but rather will serve as an independent contractor through the county’s Department of Corrections. The chaplain will work part-time hours set by mutual agreement at a starting rate of $25 to $35, based on qualifications.

A background check is required, as is professional liability insurance.
